Case Study: Third floor heating problems

Problem:

Solve the owner’s current difficulties in receiving hot water and heating problems on the refurbished third floor of their property.

Property Type:

5 Bed, 2-bathroom, Semi-Victorian house. Sheffield, West Yorkshire

Review of existing system:

The customer needed to have hot water and heating on the refurbished third floor of the property and wanted to add an en-suite to the same floor.

Their existing vented Valient water and heating system was gravity fed with the tanks situated below the level of the third floor. This meant that the water and heating couldn’t reach the third floor.

Recommendation:

Replace the existing system with a more modern system that will allow for the renovation and updating of the third floor of this house.

Solution:

We fitted a 210-litre vented cylinder with mains pressure to the hot water and a 32kw Ideal Vogue Max heating system on the third floor.

It has given the client the opportunity to not only have an en-suite installed but also a fully functioning system that heats the whole house.  Ready for use now and for when guests come to visit (when the time comes).

Not only does it mean the owners can use all the floors of their house, they have a very efficient and economic boiler, controlled remotely via NEST that has a 10-year guarantee. An end to their heating problems.

Result:

The client was thrilled with the results (and is also toasty warm!).
